In the face of the rapidly growing 3D printing industry in Poland, the company faced challenges related to the implementation of new features and the risk of supply chain disruptions due to reliance on off-the-shelf components.

The project's objective was to create a microcontroller-based electronic platform enabling remote control and monitoring of printing processes in the UBOT3d printer lineup.

The main challenge was to develop a comprehensive controller compatible with three printer models without requiring hardware modifications, while effectively monitoring and compensating for XY-axis backlash and resonance frequencies.

Scope of work:

1. Technological analysis and definition of target technology assumptions.

2. Definition of electronic architecture and cloud system structure.

3. PCB design utilizing "SmartFET" semiconductor technology.

4. Research using accelerometers to enable auto-tuning, and reduce backlash and resonant frequencies.

5. Thermodynamic stability testing at 70°C.

6. Implementation of predictive maintenance algorithms.

7. Prototype manufacturing and production of six Release Candidate units.

8. Preparation of manufacturing documentation and EMC Pre-Compliance testing report.
